OneNet's primary data centre is located in the IBM Data Centre in Newton, Auckland. OneNet operates a secondary facility for high availability, depending on specific client requirements. Each data centre is engineered to the highest levels, with extensive systems to address security and network redundancy, thus enabling OneNet to offer its 99.9% infrastructure availability guarantee.

Security

All data centre personnel go through a rigorous background security check and data centre access is limited to data centre personnel only. Access is strictly monitored and advanced access controls such as card key protocols and 24x7x365 surveillance are employed to ensure that OneNet's clients' systems are protected. In addition, we employ robust fire suppression, redundant HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) and redundant power feeds (two equal "fail-over" options) to ensure that data centre operations continue uninterrupted in the unlikely case of a disaster.

Precision Environment

Our data centres' HVAC systems have N+1 resources. This means that one additional unit is always available on standby to take up the load of any one unit which may fail. This is also known as system redundancy. An advanced fire-suppression system is in place to prevent any fire from spreading, in the unlikely event that one could start. All cables to servers and communications equipment are securely tied down and cabling is routed under-floor to protect against tampering.

Conditioned Power

Power systems in OneNet data centres are designed to run uninterrupted, especially in the event of a total power outage. All servers are fed with conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power that will run even if the primary utility power source fails. In the event of an extended power outage, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely. Generators are regularly tested to ensure functionality in the event of an emergency.

Core Routing Equipment

OneNet employs only fully redundant, enterprise-class Cisco routing equipment housed in its own secure, core routing rack and fed with redundant power supplies. Our upstream Internet carriers enter the facilities at disparate access points to ensure that there is no service failure, even in the unlikely event of a cable cut. OneNet maintains two equal capacity links with two independent market-leading Internet providers, to provide for an uninterruptible Internet resource.

Network Technicians

At OneNet, we realize that a highly resilient data centre is more than just hardware and software. That's why OneNet has developed a certified networking and security team with years of experience in managing and monitoring enterprise-level networks. Our certified network technicians are trained to the highest standards to ensure that we are able to meet our 99.9% infrastructure availability guarantee.
